...you were guaranteed to succeed?

Me, invent/patent a process to create controllable fusion for limitless safe energy for all.

You? (Nothing outlandish like a formula to predict the next lottery win, and nothing illegal!)

Find a way to sucessfuly cure cancer. I have had so much family die due to it I cant think of something more close to my heart.

Screw being rich and inventing a gold giving diamond machine. I want my family.

Sing my way into the charts...

(not for fame btw, I actually wouldn't like fame. However I do want to sing better!)

The range of answers remind me of that old joke.....

According to urban legend, during the yuletide of 1948 a Washington DC radio station asked ambassadors from a number of countries in the capital their preferred Christmas gift, and the replies were recorded for a special holiday broadcast.

The expected answers were intoned: 'Peace throughout the world,' from the French ambassador; 'Freedom for all people enslaved by Imperialism,' from the Russian; and then a call went through to Sir Oliver Franks, the representative of Her Majesty's Government.

'Well, it's very kind of you to ask,' he replied. 'I'd quite like a box of crystallised fruit.'

Not sure if it would lead to it...

but something perhaps with stem cells?

I just think that if we could create and use them to their full effectiveness then maybe we could re-grow body parts, cure diseases etc.

I think that would be fantastic.

It could cure a few cancers also as if you have testicular cancer….no problem! Remove one and then use stem cells to re grow it!

Also could perhaps cure other things as if we could understand and reprogram stem cells we would have a bloody brilliant knowledge of the human genome and could perhaps re-program other cells in the body and therefore cure other things such as genetic diseases or indeed cancer.

Could perhaps send the “stop” signal to the cancerous cells.

Well that is my hopes and dreams!
Might not be 100% accurate but it is a nice idea :)

Make it feasible for people to live a generation longer in healthy shape, maybe get life expectancy up to age 140 or 150. I'd have loved it if my boy could have spent more time with my Grandfather...it would make people wiser.

Yeah imagine having to break the news to the French that they'd have to work all them extra years

And not to forget those students who will now have much longer to make sure they clear their debts!

That would bring all sorts of problems of it's own

Okay, good point...only allow it for people who could afford to stay alive, have a cut off of 90 years old to receive the state pension then you either have family take over the upkeep or ship them off to Dignitas...it could open up an entirely new financial services sector, employing thousands!

Commonplace option: Meet ideal woman, marry, raise family & all live healthily, wealthily and happily ever after

Landmark option: Create computer/internet related product and revolutionise said field, a la Gates, Zuckerberg. Go down in history.

Carefree option: Die, reincarnate as George Best beater. Win more trophies, sleep with a greater number of women. Die younger.

What do you mean? I just want to invent a way to make people live to 140 or 150...what society did with them once they were able to do so is not my problem...I merely made a suggestion as to how they could tackle it. :D

You may succeed in asking her, but the answer you seek may be another thing...... ! ;)

Ahh but you said i would be sucessful, therefore the answer would be yes, If she said no then it would be an unsucessful attempt to ask her to marry me, and im going to be a sucess, there for me and her would live a happy life together, more so me than her :D :hiya:
