What Movie on Blu-Ray Disc Would you Play To Show off Your System

As the title says really, what BD movies give an unbelievable transfer?

The one movie I own which I use to show off Blu Ray to my friends is Casino Royale.

What other films are on a par with this?

There are loads but one of my current favorites has got to be Transformers! This has pretty much become a reference title for showing off a Blu Ray setup. And if you have half decent sound to go with it then all the better!

I have Transformers on HD DVD and yes, it is fantastic.

Any more titles I should consider?

For Pic Quality - I, Robot, No Country for Old Men and Transformers
For Audio Quality - Master And Commander, The Incredible Hulk, AvP 2 (yes DTs is the most oommph of the audios codecs just like it was DVD)

Cars is fantastic for both picture and sound.

The sound on Cloverfield is awsome too.

:smashin:

Agreed :smashin: That Cloverfield soundtrack is one of the best surround mixes I have heard. They created an amazing soundstage which pretty much made the film for me.

Apocalypto is also an audio great. LPCM too, who needs HDAudio codecs

Personally I always play the intro scene to Blade Runner... looks great and the sound is brilliant ;)

The Golden Compass is also a great picture transfer.

On Blu you must get 'Baraka' for the most amazing visuals and clear sound
I second 'The Fall' too
and 'Ratatoiulle'
and I,Robot :D

Sleeping Beauty looks amazing for a 50 yr old film too
Planet Eath still looks impressive too

For picture quality '2001: A Space Odyssey' is reference disk.

For sound quality 'The Day After Tomorrow' has an aggressive DTS-HD MA audio track.

Not impressed with 'Shooter' at all. Rubbish pic, and no HD audio to speak of :thumbsdow

That surprises me. The HD DVD is one of the best HD picture I have seen. It also doesn't have HD Audio and just DD+. Doesn't matter to me as I don't have HD Audio capability anyway.

In my book Shooter on blu ray is also 'reference' picture wise, and pretty amazing audio wise. This is from viewing the 'original' issue of Shooter on blu ray.

Pic wise it would be Transformers and Casino Royal

Sound wise it has to be Superman Returns reissue with PCM audio! :smashin:
