    Hi,

I am having quite a few issues with audio and video on my recently built Media Center. I have recycled an old PC (Soyo Dragon K7V m/b, AMD Athlon XP 1800+ processor and ATI 9600 Pro graphics card) and I think its probably too slow and old for running XP MCE properly.

So I am thinking of upgrading the Motherboard, Processor and Ram. But I don't want to buy something that is still going to cause me issues. So I am after soem help/advice :)

I want to use my media center for DVDs, Videos, Audio (MP3s) and eventually TV. No gaming.

As cheap as possible but with the following:
    - ATX or Micro ATX board
    - AMD or Intel (don't mind)
    - Needs to be Quiet as its gonna sit in the living room
    - Able to run XP Media Center.
    - being able to run Vista MCE would be a great bonus.
    - Allow output to my 28" CRT TV
    - Eventually I will get an 32" LCD HDTV
    - SP/DIF out so I can feed the audio to my AV receiver
    - SATA and IDE
    - Be able to go into and come out of Standby with no problems.

Any help is appreciated. Also don't mind If I have to hunt on ebay for 2nd hand stuff, new is preferred ;-)

    Thanks, Mark
