So can DVD-RAM discs. The quality is better and they last longer. They are more expensive than DVD-RW but probably worth it due to their longer lifespan.
They are also handy to use for time shifting. DVD-RAM acts similar to a hard drive (altho' at 4.7GB a very small one I will admit). Have 5 Panasonic dvd recorders, oldest DMR-E85H around 70 RAM discs, hundreds of DVD-R. I have never used, nor do I have a single DVD+R, DVD-RW or DVD+RW.
I highly recommend you look at using DVD-RAM if you are only going to use the discs in your EZ45. DVD+-R/RW dont work well with Panny due to the WSS problem.
You can get DVD-RAM for £10 for 10 incl P&P from Panasonic at present with the promo code. see http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=431986
