    what kind of price would you guys expect to pay for something (as below) to be professionally fitted :

    1. 2 amps ( one dual channel, one 4 channel)
    2. a crossover
    3. 2 front speakers
    4. couple of rear 6x9s , requiring holes to be cut into a board at the back
    5. couple of front tweeters
    6. all wiring associated with above, including fuse.

    I might be changing cars and hence may need all that transferred :)

    From memory about 18 months ago I paid £100 to have similar kit fitted in London. Might cost less if you shop around. Buying all that kit from one dealer may get you a fitting discount (unless of course you own it all already). :rolleyes:

    I think £100 to £150 including head unit plus any parts. It will of course cost much more if you want it custom installing.

    i would, but the amount of wires going into the back of the two amp and through the crossover etc is enough to leave any novice flabbergasted! :eek:

    it may be worth a stab if I had diagrams of where the connections are supposed to be and how to run wires to front/back of car :)

    £200 You were robbed mate! I agree with 50/50 why not do it yourself ICE installing only becomes tricky when custom builds are needed ie door pods, false floors etc.
    The actual wiring of a system is easy as pie.

    An alternative is try approaching the guy who fitted the system before and ask him if hes interested in making a few quid on the side.

    There is a guy who works at my local ICE retailer but If the boss is not about will offer to do the job at his house for a lot less. When ever Ive bought kit he would say We charge £35 to fit this I will do it for a £10 and so on!

    last job was a custom one, this time I think I'll stick to the standard sizes on the car ...

    only problem is i think i'll need speaker adaptors for them to fit in the door;

    anyone know of a decent ICE retailer who can give me a quote and fitting and also supply reasonably (ie not inflated) priced ICE, near North London ?

    Do it yourself - much better sence of achievement. Just take your time and plan it well and it will look great.
