After any tinkering what DVD do you use to check for improvements.Mine is ICE AGE as sid the sloth can look almost real on the close ups.

    Mine's similar...

    Monsters Inc.

A fantastic looking disc and I find the hair on Sully a great way to determine detail levels.

    Cheers

I love the start of toy story 2 in both demo and picture quality,Shrek is another favourite.probably because they are all computer generated animated movies.

Still has to be "The Fith Element" R1 Superbit, for both sound and vision running PS. But then I enjoy the film for the films sake.

I use a few for improvements - Avia needle pulse test to set black and white levels, then Spider-Man alley scene and car chase (amongst otrhers),for solid blacks and dark area detail, Titanic opening sub sequence for posterisation, Generations chap 2 for skin posterisation/contouring (more a player check than anything), State and Maine (thanks Jeff!) for varius colour, detail and artefact checks.

For 'showing off' I also use TS2 opening and The Matrix Lobby Scene onwards for surround sound. It's quite a grainy film, so it's also good for checking how good the player is at keeping noise to a minimum.

    Hi all,
Place stuart little(one) in dvd and go straight to the music videos, the one to demo is trisha yearwood as it shows how too much contrast can ruin an essential three minutes viewing.
