do you think this pc will be capable of playing games like fear and bioshock
thx mt_mckinlay

it'll play the game but nowhere near top settings due to the middle of range graphics card. Also at the moment Core2Duo's wee all over AMD options and i'd recommend changing the build to include a core2Duo of some sort.

ok wat about this ow and thx for ya help

which one do you think is better

The Intel. Both have lousy graphics card. My X1900XT would whoop it's ass.:)
also 17" is too small, I would look at 19".
Get 500GB, price per GB is best. No point getting 250GB as only slightly cheaper than 500GB.

Sapphire RADEON X1600 PRO, (256 MB) AGP Graphic Card

rite ok so the intel is better gd ill go for this
is this graphics card better tho or not

is 17 actually to small for games or just you prefer smaller screen?

also you can only get 400gb harddrive and i dnt need that much plus its a extra 20 pound i cant afford

17", being that's widescreen is quite small vertically. So you need to buy a bigger screen to make up for it.

My 17" 4:3 has the same height as a 20" 16:10.
1600Pro is a lousy card.

But I guess if you're on a budget..

i could also get this graphics card do ya think it is the best of the one that comes with the computer and the other one i posted

If you want to change graphics card, why are you buying a pre-built PC then ripping it out? You're just wasting money.

And I would take a guess that system is PCI-E, so if you do buy a AGP videocard it won't fit.

8500GT is budget graphics card, look at ATI 1950 Pro or perhaps second hand ATI X1900XT.

i will take that graphics out before i buy it so its cheaper and will have a look at the other cards as well but wat about this one

GPU:
NVIDIA® GeForce 7300
Bus Type:
PCI Express
Memory: (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
Supporting 512MB with the use of system memory to compliment onboard memory..
For full 512MB support, 512MB of system memory required.
Connectors:
DVI-I
S-Video
Windows Vista ready
System Requirements:
A PCI Express compliant motherboard
A vacant PCI Express x16 slot

i dnt get the please read carefully bit but anyway would all theese graphics card work if i used linux or not

7300- lousy. Even worse than 8500!

Forget playing Fear on a system like that. The graphics card is the bottleneck.

You need to spend £80+ on a videocard, pickup a used X1900XT/XTX and it'll be much much faster than 7300/8500 rubbish.

wat bout this

Lousy. If you want to game, get 8800GTS.

at the very minimum to game with any decent settings the best price/performance ratio is undoubtedly the 1950Pro from Ati. yes the 8800 will out perform it but you'll pay anything from £60 more.
