Hi all, I have the SKY+ connected to the Panasonic TX32LZD80 and works fine. I've placed the SKY box in a cupboard and can change channels/record etc via the magic eye.

The problem I have is when turning the TV on via the Magic Eye; it goes straight to DVB even though the power on preference is AV. The following happens:
    • SKY comes out of standby when turned on via the magic eye
    • I continue to press SKY on the remote but nothing happens
    • If I then open the cupboard and perform the same action whilst facing the SKY+ box, it goes directly to SKY then I can change/record etc via the magic eye.

Surely this defeats the purpose of hiding the box in the cupboard.

    Is this problem irresolvable?

I don't think the scart control function is activated when you use the magic eye - which is why nothing is happening until you point the remote directly at the Sky box.

The magic eye was designed so you can watch Sky in a second room and also change the channel away from your main TV/Sky box setup. In a normal setup, there wouldn't be a scart connected to your second TV (only the RF cable for the magic eye) so scart control wouldn't be of any use.

Services-4-1 also make sure Video Output is set to RGB and Second Location Picture Format is set to 16:9.

You can not for the magic eye.
The Sky box deliberately does NOT activate the SCART control when it receives commands via RF2.

It assumes you are in another room - the whole design purpose of a magic eye. Forcing a TV connected in the main room to the SCART input in this scenario would be highly annoying for anyone watching something from another source there (e.g. person in main room is watching DVD or terrestrial, person in other room is watching Sky).
