What is the Difference between the Sony "E-Line" Receivers and the "QS" Receivers?

I am thinking of getting either the "E-Line" STR-DE685 or the very new "QS" STR-DB780.

The 685 is top of the E-Line range whilst the 780 is bottom of the QS range, so would they both sound similar or would the 780 be higher quality?

Also anybody with any experience of either?

And can anybody recommend one of them over the other?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I can't find any reviews on either

    Thanks

    John

Not familiar with E-Line but I think it is probably Economy-Line, next up is the QS - Quality Standard & Finally the ES - Extremely high Standard at the top of the pile.

QS range have aluminium face pannels as oppose to E-line plastic, the QS series circuit boards are on a 2 degree tilt (at least the hifi amps are) because this apparently makes a difference. Basically the QS range is built to slightly higher spec with better materials. Also, the upper end of the QS range is "UK Tuned" because apparently the UK ear prefers a smoother sound than the Japaneese one.

So basically, I should get the QS 780 over the E-line 685.

Does anybody know the specs of the STR-DB780??

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I don't understand if the 780 has a bass/mid/high equaliser or just bass and treble controls?
    Thanks

Looks like Lynx is a bit more helpful than me...:D
The 780 doesn't have tone controlls on the front, no.
