Caught Starman on Sky HD and didn't know much about it. I thought it was pretty sweet. You can't beat catchin a flick you know nothin about and it turns out to be better than 90% of the films you're really looking forward to that have been overhyped.

Yeah. Great movie. Allen and Bridges were superb in that.

Let's hope for a BluRay release soon.

Anyone seen the Karen Allen / Jeff Bridges music video for "ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DREAM" from the "STARMAN" soundtrack. It's well funny!

    Enjoy! :smashin:

The Wanderers is one of my guilty secrets - a personal favourite that I realise isn't necessarily a great film.

It still speaks loudly to me of my youth, and my friend and I still throw quotes from it into our conversations with alarming regularity.

I made my own Starman DVD cover because I didn't like the one that came with my Region 2 DVD... what do you think?

I quite like it. We should lobby Sony for a blu-ray release (several other John Carpenter hits are coming to blu-ray soon).

I love "Starman"! I love the whole "GAS" scene.

I thought Karen Allen was great in Paul Newman's "GLASS MENAGERIE" as well. I had no idea she had done soooo many films!

Karen Allen always reminds me of Karen Carpenter and Brooke Adams.

They must have all been seperated at birth.

Just thought I'd mention this in case you may have overlooked it.

I haven't seen most of them films but i watched Starman recently when it was on HD. I've seen it a couple of times over the years and it definately one of my favourite films!

It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling when i saw it was on HD and couldn't wait to watch it again... Love the bit where JB brings the deer back to life outside the diner :) Awesome!!

I was going to say 'Dressed To Kill' and 'Robocop', then I realised that's Nancy Allen, not Karen. Don't think I'll ever quite forget Nancy's strip in 'Dressed To Kill'. Formative years those.

    Regards

Yes I think Nancy and Karen are different people. There is also a Joan Allen and a Krista Allen too !;)

Oh... and a Woody Allen but nobody gets him confused with Karen Allen for some reason!:D;)

That, a sensible diet with responsible sunbathing, no smoking and limited amounts of alcohol are the best things to preserve a youthful look. That's what all leading research points too, and the mantra I suggest to my clients :smashin:

Saying that I'd be surprised had she not gone for some 'work' around the eyes...

She's one of the few actresses who projects a natural beauty with effortless ease. I consider Patricia Clarkson in the same catagory.

Film alcohol aka coloured or sugared water, will turn your urine brown. Not impair your body's collagen production and liver cell renewal.

    :D

Diane Lane, she has aged very very well.

    Agreed!:thumbsup::smashin:

Anyway... back to Karen Allen... I remember seeing an interview where she says that people are always stopping her in the street asking her to have a "drinking competition" with them! How odd!
