can you please let me know what is the best position of bi-polar surround speakers? Should they be placed on the side walls, at what height?, should they be at the the listeners ear height or 2-3 feet above? and if is not possible to put them on the side wall can I put them on the back walls? and again at what height?

In a 5.1 setup the rears should go on the side walls 2-3 feet above ears and slightly behind listening position. With 7.1 same again but this time slightly infront.
