I want to buy a TV and have approx £1500 to spend..

I currently subscribe to Digital TV from Telewest Cable..
    I have a Pan710 Nicam VCR..

.. and I want to buy a 32" widescreen TV and can't decide whether to buy a IDTV for the free digital channels.. or just get a better quality TV for the same amount of cash and wait for next year to see what happens with STBs for £100-£120...

..I watch a lot of sport via Sky Sports...

Having gathered as much info as possible re specs, etc.. I am thinking of the Pan TX32PB50 or TX32PG50.. or maybe Philips.... or Sony... There are that many differing reports about problems at 100HZ with 'blurry' footballers and the like that any advice or recommendations would be gratefully received!

Ideally Dolby 5.1 required.. but good Nicam would suffice at this stage.. (No DVD player yet... see what Santa brings next year maybe!)

    Any thoughts??

I would recommend you get the Toshiba 32ZP18P and put the difference in your budget towards a budget reciever and speakers.

You can get the above tv for close to £1100 online (currys and comet will be £1600).

You could get the Toshiba 36ZP18 for £1450.00.

Try www.price-guide.co.uk for the best price and info on the dealers.

Don't forget the 36zp Tosh is smaller than virtually all the 32 inch competition.
I have one in a small room, it pushes neatly into a corner
