If it is 2.35:1 then I am not going to buy it, as T2 was filmed with a format called super 35 which is close to the 16:9 ratio. This means the 4:3 ratio would give me more of the original picture than the 2.35:1.

Super 35 actually has a ratio of about 1.66:1.

A widescreen frame of 2.35:1 is taken out of this as is a 4:3 frame.

The director intended 2.35:1 to be the correct ratio.

Framing can look odd if other ratios are used and may introduce dead space.

4:3 would give more top and bottom but would lose at the sides due to the f#cked up way Super 35 works.

    Sigh! too.

There is only one way to do HOME CINEMA (note the words there) and that is as close as possible to a real CINEMA. Regardless of what techniques were used for shooting the film, if it was shown at 21:9 at the cinema, then 21:9 is the ONLY way it should be seen at home.

If you still believe that the earth is flat, just don't buy it. Go buy the fullscreen VHS version instead.
