Only Tv's that will take pro-scan will show this, so basically PDP's, and selected high grade CRT's.

Most projectors will show it, if you can make it since PAL proscan ahs not been legalised yet.

PAL progressive is 'legal', its just that DVD player manufacturer's aren't allowed to provide a de-interlaced PAL output direct from the machine at this moment in time. (Which is why you have the crazy situation of a British manufacturer - Arcam - producing a progressive scan DVD player that can only output progressive NTSC...... )

Ahem, the Arcam FMJ DV27 can do PAL Progressive, and it will be simple to turn it on in a firmware patch.

Arcam's machine can output it if required. Your post implies that the machine is hardware limited - in fact it is not.

Oh and it's pretty sweet too ;)

We stopped using 'Uxbridge Audio' about 2 years ago...... both shops (Chiswick & Beaconsfield) are named 'Martin-Kleiser'.

    Blade,

I asked John Dawson if the DV27 would be upgradeable in software to do 576p and this was his reply:

I don't know whether things have changed since March.

    Cheers,
    Liam
