Seriously what is going on with this TV? I have been waiting for some news on this TV to see if it is better to wait than buy LGC8 before stocks run out but there is NOTHING!

We are half way through the yer and not only is it not out yet there isn't even any information/tests/news nothing! the newest google pages about this product are from months ago after the TV shows.

I thought with the £2500 starting price it would be around the same price the C8 is now around black Friday so it would easily be worth waiting for if it is actually a better TV. Now I'm not even sure it would have been out long enough once that time comes and it won't be discounted much at all.

Has anybody seen or heard of the approx release date? I have a price match on the C8 for john lewis that ends on the 8th of July so it seems that might have to be the latest I can decide whether to wait or not.

Good things come to those that wait.

I couldn't wait and a good thing came to me in the shape of an 802.

There's always some uncertainty as to the actual date that any new model arrives in the dealers, beit new TVs or AVRs.

I'm confused are you advising waiting for the Panasonic or to get the LG before stocks run out?

You say good things come to those that wait and then stated that your good thing came because you didn't?

    Thanks

I can't recall where I picked up the info but it's in the back of my mind that we wouldn't be seeing those TVs until about September-ish. Not going to be cheap either way.

I bought the 802 at a good price, they are even cheaper now. The problem with waiting for a new model is that you are always going to pay a premium price. Wait too long and the bargain prices of the out going models is lost.

You have to look at the specs of the new models, apart from the newer Panny have DV, Atmos and eARC the actual processing is going to be roughly the same. If you want those features then wait, if not consider the current ones now that prices are lower.

I wasn't going to wait until the autumn as I wanted a new set to watch Wales lift the Webb Ellis Trophy in October.

To be honest I have never even watched anything with the DV and HDR stuff as I just have a normal 1080p 3/4 year old TV. I just thought it would be important to have them all?

I will never be buying Blur rays (I used to rent them from Love 4 but haven't watched one since they bust) and will virtually never be gaming, I pretty much have 90% share of my TV time streaming TV services like Amazon/Netflix/Now TV and that's mainly just tv shows.

On that information I would definitely see if you could get this years bargains, the 55'' FZ802 can be had for around £1200. Now TV isn't going to look great on it though, even some Sky HD can look pretty crap, Game of Thrones final season was a disgrace.

The TX65GZ950B has now been released and is in stock which is weird. Guess I will wait at least a few weeks and see what's what.

They have prices for the new Panasonic oleds in Richersounds for couple weeks now but not seen a review.. have a 55ez952 and would like/ should have gone bigger but the new prices are quite high.. the 55gz2000 was showing for quite a bit over 3k from what I remember

That's for the top of the range with a custom panel and isn't out for another month or two. The 65GZ950 is out now for a more than reasonable £2499.99

I wonder if there is much difference in the pic quality between this and the gz.. so am awaiting a review.. know the top range ones have atmos speakers which doesn't interest me in any way at all probably the same for many others who have a dedicated setup..

So my 65"GZ arrived this morning from RicherSounds but only just had chance to set it up and get it mounted on my cantilever tv stand.

Tested a few 4K blu-ray first one being Power rangers as its in Dolby Vision and wanted to see how the GZ would handle it and can honestly say it looks bloody fantastic i am blown away with it not only because of the picture but with the way motion is handled on this set.

Need to do more testing obviously but from what i have seen so far this tv is quality and i don't think people will be disappointed when they get theirs.

Not tested anything else yet will test Netflix 4K and Amazon Prime /Youtube ect in the coming hours.

    off to play :D

I had the Toshiba 55X9863DB OLED but that has know gone to my dad and before that i had a LG C6 2016 OLED.

I am sitting about 10 feet away from the 65"GZ950 and it looks big but then so did the 55" when i got that but i soon got used to that.

Without going through the checkout on RS, do they offer a time slot window for deliveries or ring before ? Not ordered on line with RS before.

    Thanks.

When I bought the Cambridge Audio 4k Blu-Ray player they emailed me the details all of the way and then a company like DPD delivery and email you delivery slots. What happened to your LG 55E6 TV?

With the tv’s they are a 2 man delivery so not DPD.

The delivery company give you a 3 hour window the day before.

Does anyone know if all the streaming apps (NF, YT, AM) are fully HDR, DV (and Atmos) compatible? I'm sure i saw an interview at the CES with a Panasonic rep saying that this year's TVs all would be.
