Hi, Mac idiot again!

I have been offerred (outwith the Forums I stress) a Mac 500gb Fireware 800 free agent setup to add to my Intel Imac running Snow Leopard.

Obviously I realise the 500gb is an external hard drive but what exactly is the 800 "free agent" setup?

Would £40.00 be a fair price for it?

Thank you to any knowledgable person replying.

I assume they mean that they are offering you the Seagate Freeagent for Mac 500Gb external drive. Seagate Freeagent for Mac is the product name of the external drive. This model has three interfaces - USB, Firewire 400 and Firewire 800. Firewire 800 is the fastest interface and good if working on photos or videos stored on the external drive. You just need to check if your Mac has this interface - most iMacs do.

They cost about £50 new so £40 is a very good price if it is new, maybe push to £35 if its used.
