SB61 Shuttle can use:- Two DDR Slots, support DDR 266/333/400 and Dual Channel DDR

Checking the Crucial site I can't find any Dual Channel DDR memory.

    DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • Non-parity • 5ns • 2.5V • 64Meg x 64

    or

    DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • ECC • 5ns • 2.5V • 64Meg x 72

    in 512Mb.

Will "Dual Channel" memory give me any performance advantage?

    Cheers,

    Mark.

Dual Channel refers to how the motherboard access the RAM, and not the RAM itself.

You just use normal DDR RAM, and with a pair of matched sticks, you can configure the mobo to run in Dual Channel mode.

This increases memory bandwidth, so should give you a bit of a boost in memory intensive applications.

if you get two separate sticks of memory (need to be identical AFAIK) then dual channel allows you to write/read to/from both simultaneously giving a nice performance boost - think of it as a bit like raid striping but with memory.
