I have been doing some research and aparantly the openenig music and video of battlestar galactica(the new version) is different to what we got on sky. Does anyone know why? and what the differences are?
    Thanks.
    David.

I was reading about the same thing when someone asked about the music used in the mini-series and the acutal series.
The theme music changed due to the wishes of a single US Scifi channel executive who didn't like the UK music, I expect the titles were then altered to fit the theme as well I think removing the footage of the nukes(?).

well I think the uk openenig is just right. The operatic ambeant singing then the tonight on battlestar Galactica drums with clips from that particular episode coming up :smashin:

I would however like to actually be able to hear what the difference is, does anyone have any links to a theme music site that might have it?

Thanks for sharing, they do sound similar but on balance I much prefer the UK theme with the vocals.

On a related note it's only approx a week to go before the DVD box set is released.  :smashin:

    Due for release on 28/03/2005

It'll be interesting to see if the cuts/edits made for content by SKY1 are included in the actual episodes or part of the special features.
The BBFC reports they were passed uncut but of course that doesn't mean they weren't cut before being offered for classification.

BSG (U.K) has some of the best opening music i've heard since Earth Final Conflict. Shame the soundtrack i bought, only has music from the pilot, and not the rest of the series.

I have read references in the BSG newsgroup from US viewers who had seen the UK versions and the US screenings, off hand the only significant thing they mention recently is Baltars interaction with 6 in which scenes are shorter in the UK versions. The episode "Tigh meup, Tigh me down" is mentioned when Baltar and 6 are getting hot and heavy and Starbuck walks in.
To be honest unlike previous SKY1 efforts at editing these must have been done by someone who knows what they are doing because without the feedback from US viewers I would not have known any difference.
However with content censorship it's a matter of principal, I don't like to know I am being spoon fed material approved let alone pay extra for the priviliege:)
