What is a scart splitter

I am new and I am trying to build a home cinema but first what is a scart splitter and wat does it do. Does it help split up all the scarts into my amplifier please help ???????????????????????????????????????????:lease:

A scart splitter is simply a junction box where you have a scart input, with more than one output so that you can switch between two displays, say a TV for day to day use and a projector.

You can also buy the reverse, where a number of scart inputs (or other inputs depending on the model) can be switched. These are handy if your amp or display doesn't have enough inputs.

They can take the form of a simple black box, or something more akin to a piece of av equipment HERE is one example.
