Settles what, exactly? That it was the only one the hacks could find the remote for, in amongst the empty bottles and full ashtrays?

Yes its true the PIONEER436XDE is a real winner!!

But some "experts" here maybe will tell you that magazines'
reviews "should be taken as a pinch of salt"

Don't worry you will soon be tempted to say that What Hifi are
liars and you were wrong to choose that screen and you should
have bought a PV500 instead!! :rotfl:

    Cheerz :hiya:

If that's a dig at me, I have never suggested a PV500 to anyone, can't bear the stupid things.

There seems to be a lot of truth in it.

Of all the posts about them (from owners), ive yet to see a negative comment about them.Everyone seems gobsmacked by the quality all round.

I remember the same could not be said of the PV500, at least 30% had issues and the Panasonic still seems troublesome.

Its early days mind you , but it appears Pioneer have created a winner (for most) :)

I practice. As to Pioneer owners, course they like them. In spite of the most repeated advice on the forum, I reckon less that 20% demo screens properly before buying. How would they know if it's the best or not. Let some 20 yr old kid with a new toy tell them what to buy?

I haven't had any experience with the 436 (other than a quick look in Comet), but I'm totally happy with my 506XDE so far.

One thing Maw, if you don't like the XDE you must have some seriously impressive equipment. ;)

Thank you, yes. As for folks who rant about their own, I agree. Not many people have the right. One member who has had the lot is Gizlaroc, he has owned 3 panny screens, a 435, and an NEC. Can't argue about experience really can you? My equipment is of course not actually mine, it's owned by my business. Some folks get company cars, I get a 1992 LR discovery and a stonking plasma/projector/surround system!
