    Hi All

Looking at changing from Sky HD to BT Vision. But I am wondering what channels are on HD on BT Vision?

I see they have channels like Dave, FOX, Discovery, History etc. But there is no mention if thee are on HD or not. I see you get the 4 freeview channels in HD, but does that include ITV1, 2, 3 and 4 or is it only ITV 1 that is in HD? I;ve tried searching but cannot find anything online about what is available in HD apart from on demand films and the 4 free view ones.

    Thanks

BT TV – Compare BT TV offerings – BT.com seems quite clear to me and is just as you have stated.

    You'll get:
    - the 4 Freeview HD channels (plus BBC red button HD when available) {NB and a few more at some stage next year if you are in the coverage of some proposed new services. BBC News - BBC to launch five new HD channels as Freeview expands }
    - BT sports in HD streamed over the internet from BT Sport IF you have/get Infinity
    - some HD film channels streamed over the internet IF you have/get Infinity

All others will be SD. Although you may be able to find HD streams from various places if you connect a PC to your TV the YouView player may not be compatible / able to display them directly.

Note that the additional HD Freeview broadcast capacity may be taken up by ITV/C4/C5 but equally well may not.

I feel that BSkyB have taken quite an anti-competitive stance on HD by getting C5, ITV and most C4 HD services behind their pay-wall - and our government (Ofcom) are too stupid to see it / dare not interfere.

As far has I am aware BT offer very few HD channels, I have listed below the ones that I know of :-

    BBC 1 HD
    BBC 2 HD
    ITV 1 HD
    Channel 4 HD

    BT sports 1 HD
    BT sports 2 HD
    ESPN sports HD

with the sports package you need to have BT infinity and must sign up to BT vision essential tv which is £5 per month plus an extra £3 a month for the HD sports option.

Some of the on demand films are offered in HD at a charge of somewhare around £3 to £4 a movie.

Thanks, it was more the channels such as FOX etc, the extra 18 pack that you can get if they were in HD or not.

Really? The website says vision only, maybe the introduction if the BT sport streams has finally taken off the muzzle off the box

Yes the BT Sports and ESPN channel can be viewed via the BT Youview box, there listed in the EPG but when you view them the box diplays somthing like "Internet channel", I must admit I have been pleasantly suprised by the HD pic quality

OK I stand corrected, they've updated the website with now available on youview. Annoyingly it's just as I can't get them they've launched, been waiting on those for months
