OK, just found my old copy of point blank & gcon45 on my PSone.
Nostalga has set in and I want to play them again so I am going to buy a portable TV. The thing is I last played these sort of games over 6 years ago. (I've had a widescreen TV that long). So my question is (are) what light gun games should I be looking for and I am guessing that I am going to need a new gun for my PS2? There must be lots of classics in this gendre that I have missed. I have only ever played Point Blank and Area 51 at home and Time Crisis in the arcades.

    First things first though mate.

Don't try to use a lightgun on a 100hz tv it won't work. Most new widescreens are 100hz, and the lightguns for ps1 only recognise 50hz signals. or something to that effect.

Yep, thats why I am specifically buying a portable 14' tv for the purpose. Small tvs are OK for light guns aren't they?

Seriously though are light gun games playable on a portable TV?
I have a large 100hz wide screen and a projector so I need something just to play these games.

If you have the room I would get a cheap but large 50Hz TV which would make the games more enjoyable. I recently saw an Alba 28 inch 4:3 TV in Woolworths for £149.99.:)

I am hearing you all, so whats the smallest TV I can get away with? I just don't have the room and may look for a 17 or at a push a 21.

    i dunno mate.

Try kelkoo, or somewhere. I can't see anything wrong with a 14" tv, i played my ps1 for many a year in my bedroom on a 14", just make sure you're sitting less than 3 feet or so away. :)

Look guys this is getting expensive, I already have 3 displays in my house and not a lot of room. All I want to do is reliably play the next gen light gun games.

So far I have on my list (for the PS2).
    Vampire Night, Time Crisis 2 & 3.
