I have had sky for over two years now - in order to save costs im going to cancel my Sky for some time.

My question is though, when i cancel do i normaly keep the box? I actually still have a old one from when my parents cancelled theirs - so im thinking the answer is yes.

The reason i ask is that i dont actually have a External aerial on the roof, so i cant really use the inbuilt free view on my tv without one. If i get to keep the box and the sky dish though - will i be able to still receive basic freeview via it? or is there a way i could put the sky dish feed-line straight into my tv to act as a external aerial?

    Any help appreciated :)

    Your last idea won't work.
However, you get to keep the box and your old subscription card acts as a Freesat card so you'll get all the basic channels + a few more.
(and this thread really belongs in the Sky/Sky+ section).

Says you get 200 channels - not bad for it being free :)

so basically keep the box and card and i can use this - is pretty good.

E4 is still classed as a PAY channel on satellite, the Freesatfromsky service is not the same as Freeview so while there are dozens of more TV and Radio channels on satellite there are some noticeable exceptions:)

The BBC/ITV announced their "Freesat" service coming Spring 2008 which should mean a wider choice of set top boxes including DVR's and CH4 along with E4 and More4 should be going in the clear around the same time.
