Hi, I want to get a new PS2 game as an xmas present for my freind, he's got Grand turismo but not sure what else he's got, but I know he's pretty dissapointed with most of the games and is fed up with all the racing games. He used to love sonic the Hedgehog (yes I know I'm showing my age), are there any good platform games like that for the PS2? He loves the LOTR films, what are those games like?

I don't ever really use my PS2 (well it's my boyfriend's) so I'm completey out of touch with what is good and what's not so any help would be appreciated, I have an ulterior motive as it will give me something to do over xmas :)

i think "the return of the king" has just been released for the ps2, if he likes the lord of the rings.
i havent played the game myself but it seems to be getting pretty good reviews.

    Hi Tracey,
Prince of Persia is probably the best game on the PS2 at the moment.

Does he like football? If so, Pro Evolution Soccer 3.

Does he like running people over, shotting guns and beating up prostitutes? ;) If so the GTA double pack.

Ratchet and Clank is FANTASTIC. It's a platformer (kind of like Sonic) but with weapons that will make anyone giggle like a child.
It's available cheap, it's now PLatinum range I believe (£20).

Ratchet and Clank 2 just came out as well. I wrote to Santa to ask for it.

If he likes racing games but is bored of the ones he's got, try SSX3 (the latest) or SSX Tricky (the previous release).

If any PS2 owner does not have these titles in their collection they really are missing out!

for ratchett and clank, check out play.coms 2 games for £30 offer.
ssx tricky is also available, so there is two top games at £15 each.

I thought RotK was poor, and I'm a huge Tolkien fan. Maybe he'd like it, but my recommendation would be Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, which is superb.

    Hi,

Essex - what a great place to live - ;0)

Anyway Ratchet and Clank is great for a cheapy game as its avaliable now for £20.00 new or could get it pre-owned for a little less.

I saw the advert for Manhunt last night and that looks supurb.

Have you also thought about Spyro the Dragon luved that on the PS1 and i believe there is one for the PS2.

Dal - also lives in sunny Essex

I haven't tried a lot of the games listed above, but I do recommend GTA Vice City. It's huge and has a variety of missions to be completed. Plus, it's set in the 80's so if your friend is an 80's man, then he should love it with all the soundtracks!!

    Thoroughly recommended!:smashin:

PS: Looking forward to playing Prince of Persia
