Someone I knew (not a friend) I use to pass by their house most days and if they were in the garden I spoke to them.

They knew I was going to see Alien 3.

I was looking through my Sky TV Guide and saw a series of films he was interested in and knew his son had Sky so I popped round to tell him. He then said have you seen Alien 3 yet I said no he said (he gave the end away).
As they say no good deed goes unpunished.

The worst spoiler I ever witnessed was a friend of mine after we'd been to see Presumed Innocent. There was a huge queue for the cinema as we were coming out and he walked along the line saying "xxxxx did it, xxxx did it!"   Actual murderer removed just in case anyone hasn't seen it.

In hindsight not very funny but at the time quite amusing!

Slightly different, but i definetly had the first MIB ruined for me by the mass of trailers/clips. I felt like i'd already seen the film when i watched it on sky movies. Avoided all trailers of anything since then.

Didn't happen to me, but many moons ago when "Carrie" was first in the cinemas (as the BOTTOM half of a double feature, believe it or not), the buzz had started to go around about "the little movie" on this double bill.

We were recommending it to a mate when a guy with us said to our mate "The bit at the end where (SPOLIER) will scare the poo out of you!"

    The ultimate spoiler surely???

The Sixth Sense, one of the movies I never get round to watching until it had been out a while but before then some bloke on telly actually gives away the the whole thing:)
Can't say I was too bothered but it would have been nice to be surprised or figured it out myself.

On a slightly different note, Paul Merton during one of his stage performances telling you who had "done it" in The Mousetrap :)

I remember when they had a Godzilla night on the BBC and they had some pundits on between each film one of them was Paul Ross and he had been to America to see it before the film reach our shores and he went and said the conclusion of the film and exactly how it happened.
Seeing it was a Godzilla night and fans of Godzilla would be watching what the hell was he doing giving the end away? Either he was being thoughtless clever clogs and bragging, or was he making sure Godzilla fans did not go to see it. Either way he could have just given an opinion on it. :thumbsdow

Pearl Harbor. Was in a pub with a group of friends, one whom happens to be a film critic. When discussing Pearl Harbor he said

    SPOILER

" and we all know he was the father of the child and that he gets killed in the end anyway!!!".

Needless to say I had not seen it!!

A classic moment, though it allowed me to watch the attack sequence only!!

    Cap :)

Sixth Sense got ruined for me. A presenter on local radio gave it away on his show one day. Not happy.

seriously it was the sixth sense!!! Jack Dee gave it away on a TV show he was hosting - git!

And i did have a laugh last year when coming out of return of the king the guy in front of me (while walking past a mile long line of punters waiting to go in) turned to his mate and said (in a loud voice) "i cant believe they killed Aragorn" the goan that went up nearly took the roof off :rotfl:

Not a spoiler as such but in my opinion a bloody big giveaway was the trailers for the sixth sense......me and the mrs both looked at each other after watching the trailer only and figured out the "amazing" twist for ourselves.
Watching the film after that was a huge disappointment and i can still not see what all the fuss was about!!!

Please could you give SPOILER warnings or make it invisible if giving a crucial part of the film away. ;) :smashin:

    Spoiler
    -----------------------
    Bambi's mother dies!!
    -----------------------

Actually Silence of the Lambs and The Exorcist were both spoilt for me as I'd seen lots of movies that had parodies of them.
When I finally got round to watching them, they were a huge disappointment. All the dramatic moments had me laughing as I kept remembering the spoofs.

Alien 3 was spoiled big time for me.

But not until I had finished watching it and realised what a pile of crap it was.

I had pre-ordered tickets for Alien 3 hoping it was going to be a good film, when on the eve of screening a mate turns up with a pirate copy! We still went to the cinema to see it hoping a big screen would make it better, but it didn't.

86 minutes of my life were spoilt when I sat through The Blair Witch Project.

I wish someone had told me what happened in it, then I wouldn't have bothered going to the cinema. Lots of people had said "It's :censored: . Don't bother but they never said why"

If only I'd listened to them....

Years ago a group of us settled down for a video evening. First movie - Thelma and Louise. One of our number wasn't sure if he'd seen it or not, then said "Oh yeah, I have...that's the one where they XXXXX XXX XXX XXXXX XXXXXX at the end!"

Cue lots of heavy objects being thrown

I was about to post the same thing. I thought the film was awful, probably because I'd worked it out from the off.
The other big one was Titanic, I just knew that the ship would sink ;) :D
