    Right...

My wife and I have been living like hermans and this weekend we have decided to stop the DIY for a night and go out to the cinema.

I cannot make up my mind what to see:

    Elysium
    2 Guns

So what do my fellow AVFers think will be better.

I think 2 Guns will be a bit of a laugh.
Elysium, if it is anywhere near as good as District 9, will be awesome!

So far its neck and neck, 50% each.

If I was into going to the local Empire cinema, I would see "Elysium" but I can wait until late in the year when its released on bluray.

    Interesting....

Elysium is into an early lead...

When it comes to sci-fi I am in a very fortunate position that my wife likes these movies, not in a geeky way. She just appreciates a good sci-fi movie.

But 2 Guns with Denzel & Wahlberg will be enjoyable, maybe not brilliant, but good.

2 guns looks worringly like one of those films where all the funny bits are in the trailer.

Its not on general release until next week.
I seen it listed and thought it was out now, but seen the date against it as next week... eejit!

Looks like it is 2 Guns...

You could see Kick-Ass 2 or The Lone Ranger. I'm off to see The Lone Ranger after work today and then Kick-Ass 2 and 2 Guns over the weekend. I love my Unlimited Card when I don't have weekend plans!

    If you can wait, Elysium.

I enjoy comedies but, given that you are going out to the cinema, you should use the opportunity to see something visually epic. I can't wait to see it, although I might watch 2 Guns on bluray.

    Thanks for the comments...

Kick Ass 2 is not something I am that interested in, so much so that I have not seen Kick Ass 1. Nothing against the films just happy to wait until I happen to see it rather than going out my way...

The Lone Ranger... I honestly think that is going to be a steaming, smelly, overpowering stench or poo! I like both the leads but I imagine it Depp will just be Jack Sparrow in a different costume and accent... I really hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

Defo going tomorrow so 2 Guns it is.

I agree Elysium is a film that is made to be watched in the cinema and I genuinely hope I get to see it there as well this month, depending on DIY shifts.

    Roll on tomorrow.

    What do I win?

I got the right answer

Enjoy, I am hoping to drag the breadknife out to the flix in the next few days. Still not seen Wolverine. A favourite of the wife and I might get lucky too. ;);)

You're totally wrong, I know what you mean about Depp but he is nothing like Sparrow in The Lone Ranger. Yes, he looks outlandish but the performance is quite low key. Just got back from watching it this evening and it is bloody brilliant. I read the reviews, was totally put off but went to see it based on word of mouth because not one person said it was bad after they had seen it. When the action notches up and the theme tune kicks in 3/4 of the way through you'll struggle to smile any wider!
