Thought I'd start this thread as inevitably we won't all be watching the same thing.

Just watched the men's road race. Disappointing showing from GB. Cavendish must be gutted. None of the other teams seemed to want to close the gap to the leaders which didn't help.

I not sure what to watch next...football, judo or gymnastics. :D

Road race was good, but it was a real shame the GB team lost concentration and allowed that large group to get away. Cannot fault the effort tho, as they were basically the only team to do any work for the entire 6 hours. Commentary was very poor tho, constantly getting nationalities wrong, not helped by lack of information from the organisers.

Currently watching team GB in women's volleyball, it flicking between that and the archery.

Was also watching the road race though. Don't think it was a case of not wanting to close the gap it was more a case of couldn't. With no other teams helping out and only 4 riders doing the work it was always going to be virtually impossible to pull back the break away. Completely agree though about the lack of info. Am so used to feeds on Eurosport etc having detailed info on distance left and the all important time gaps that felt it was a major let down not to know the info.

Agree with the comments about the production....very poor for such a high profile event.

Can't believe they cut halfway through the interview with the winner to show a panoramic shot of the crowd elsewhere with no sound. What were they thinking of?

Yep Hugh Porter is really ageing now I think he can get away with it on the track but in the road cycling it really highlights his failings.

OBS's host broadcast (I think done for them by NOS from the Netherlands) was dreadful and that really added to Hugh's problems (although did no one think to get a stopwatch out...I did!)

The tv coverage I believe is not the BBC but the Olympic Broadcasting Service , BBC only get to do their own interviews and commentary so any additional on screen info is not down to the BBC.

Watching the beach volleyball at the moment looks great under the lights.

Surprise highlight of the day for me has been the fencing. Pretty exciting matches helped by some really great staging with Tron-like lighting making it really televisual.

I'm looking forward to seeing the beach volleyball when the weather turns for the worse, seriously what do they do and do they still wear their bikinis and try and pretend they're on a beach in nice weather? Just strikes me as a bit bizarre really, perhaps they have an indoor alternative?

Really enjoyed the swimming yesterday. Especially the women's 400m which was brilliantly won by the Chinese in the last 2 lengths and breaking the world record in the process.

They can wear extra clothing the women in the last match yesterday had an additional layer on.

I don't know what happens if we have downpour mid-match (ponchos?:D).

I love the fact that I can watch any event live but I want to record the Judo. How do I do that if I am accessing it via the "red button "option?

Normally the red button is just a shortcut to a menu which links to a seperate channel .
On SkyHD its 450 onwards, SkySD is 470 onwards I believe . Not sure on Freeview, although iirc 301 is normally a BBC interactive channel. No idea on Freesat, sorry

I'm watching the team GB men's beach volleyball (getting thrashed) and the bloody music in between each point really is tacky, IMO.

It's so annoying and I don't think the athletes totally appreciate it, especially that idiot shouting stuff down the mic.

I feel lucky to have been there (it was an impulse purchase when they started the second round of ticket sales)...the whole place went ballistic (let alone the Aussies sat a few seats away :D).

On a wider note despite what the media were hoping for it was amazingly well organised, going via West Ham on a very empty tube (baring a couple of stops) was less stressful than a normal commute, straight through security and a great atmosphere once inside.

    Anyone watching the boxing?

Just seen the worst refereeing in a long time. He kept penalising both the Cuban and Iranian boxer for fairly innocuous reasons before disqualifying the Iran guy.

    Shocking.

Off to watch the Semi Final of the Men's football next tuesday. It was a bit of a gamble when I bought the tickets as if Team GB won their group and their QF, they would be in this game. Thankfully part 1 is done, they just need to beat South Korea in the QF!

After that I am watching the Women's basketball on Thursday 9th.

If any tickets come up for any events on for the next two weekends, whatever they are (excluding silly money tickets of course and football maybe), I'm having them!

Jammy work colleague (she) had a general Olympic Park ticket and ended up front row at the Aquatics Centre to watch Phelps make history  Jokes aside about her new American boyfriend (he took her email ), talk about luck or what

Obviously I've been following the women's beach volleyball closely....aside from that I've been rather taken with handball; I thought it'd be boring to watch however have enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the games.

Loved the rowing and cycling yesterday, couldn't help but feel sorry for the spanish rider whose chain snapped and then got a rear puncture on his spare bike.

A few seem to be watching beach volleyball. Women's hockey can be worth a watch.

Obviously keeping a close tabs on the Heptathlon today with Ennis involved. Can't believe one of the USA participants is chewing gum and blowing bubbles!! Surely that shouldn't be allowed.
