I am looking to buy an E85 as it seems to have good reports. The problem is it only records -R. So all of the discs i burn for freinds will be write once and throw.. could be expensive...
Anyone know what are the cheapest reliable discs that i could use in the Panasonic E85 my Fathers E55 seems quite picky on discs

    Thanks

    I have a E85 and use the x4 Ridisc discs from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk.
They are about £6 for 25.
I have had about 100 from these and 1 dud.

Not a single dud with imation 8x or 4x (PC World had these for £12.99 for 25 spindle a couple of weeks back).

The blankdiscshop tip sounds great given cuewoz1's good experience.

Either way don't worry about cost. Decent DVD-Rs are at disposable prices and make you wonder what is point these days of DVD-RW unless doing very frequent back-up rotations.

Avoid Datawrite Yellow (V2) 4x. Were good discs. Many samples now use a different dye and do not produce satisfactory recordings.

I recently threw away 100 out of 175 discs!

In the original post he said he wanted to share discs with friends... of course his friends will need a RAM compatible recorder.
