What DVD player for 435xde

    just got 435 xde, what dvd player should i get. go into sevenoaks and of course they say £900 Denon 3910 bit out of price range for a dvd player.
    Any suggestions ? good component player or HDMI/DVI? player

    Sevenoaks are merely advising on a player that will complement your Plasma, I believe it also upscales to 720P which your 435 will handle.

    I personally use an Arcam DV79 with HDMI, if I couldn't afford a decent DVD player for arguably the best commercial Plasma on the market I'd probably consider an SD340 or Pioneer 575 at £70 and £115 respectively.

    I am not looking to penny pinch that much but not really prepaered to spend £800-900

    What about a 2910?
    they have the same Farouda (spelling?) proc. chip and give a nice pic
    ~£500

    I dont know what kind of budget you are looking at but i have just bought a Toshiba SD-340E from amazon. Its region free and has progressive scan. It also plays DIVX and XVID movies that you download of the net or encode your self.

    I have not had a prob with this dvd player and for the price i think its a real bargin

    Seems like Denon is no good for Pioneer according to Joe.

    so why is denon no good fo pioneer.
    can any one confirmthat the pq froma 2910 ill match the 3910 as stated?

    Pio 575 with a decent set of component leads - That's what I use & it's spot on for my needs. (I have a 435XDE also)
