    Hello,

What DVD player would you suggest to go with the Panasonic AE700E 1280x720 Projector?

I need a player that will let the AE700 produce its best (or close to its best) without being an overkill for this 1000 pounds PJ.

In the beginning I was thinking about the Pioneer 575A, but I was told that the 668 or the Denon 2910 would produce a much better PQ on this projector that justifies the price difference.

I would prefer to stay bellow 250 pounds except if the PQ will indeed improve noticeably with a more expensive player. (still the budget can not be stretched beyond 450).

Seen reviews that state through DVI-D the 720P picture is almost (about 95%) identical to the picture that the more expensive 2910 puts out. I have one connected to my Panny AE500 & the pictures superb ! If you are planning on using Component however then the difference is much more pronounced.

Don't assume DVI/HDMI will be better than component - on my setup it isn't. Samsung 745 via DVI (upscaled to 1280x720) doesn't quite match the clarity of the Pio 575 via component.

Trouble is, you'd only ever know if you have them set up side by side.

In isolation the 745, as would the Denon 1910, or 2910, or Panny S97(?) etc etc via DVI/HDMI will look great I'm sure.

I got a Samsung HD945 to go with my Panasonic PT-AE700. Works superbly via HDMI. The player is a real bargain & even comes complete with HDMI->HDMI plus HDMI->DVI cable.

    Thanks.
Maybe I should stick with Pio 575. The only problem is that I might have to pass the component from the receiver (a Denon or yamaha 650) . Would that degrade the quality over component?

My AV amp only does S-Vid switching hence I'm sticking the leads straight into the PJ. However if it had component switching I'd probably have no qualms about trying that...PJ
