What does the level in do on a sub?

I have purchased a B&W sub and as well as having the RCA inputs its got speaker level in connectors.

I had a read through the manual and its go the wiring diagrams on how to set it up but I want just wandering what they are used for and what they do?

They are mainly there for use with stereo amps that do not have a sub preout so that you can still use a sub in your system.

If you have an AV reciever then just use a single shielded RCA sub cable from the reciever to either of the RCA inputs on the sub (no need to use both on the sub).
