I've just ordered a 37PV500 + Wall bracket + ES10 + accessories from the local Shop@Panasonic shop....managed to agree a price of just under £2K after showing them my 'market research'.....could have saved a £100 or so further by going to the internet sellers but then these guys can deliver in two days time.....and they are a high street chain.....

....Any experience of using these guys? Is there customer service/delivered product up to scratch?

....Also (a cable question) any experience of using the Tech+Link range of cables? They stock these and I am being offered some £100 of accessories thrown in so am thinking of getting these.....

    Thanks....

For cables most people would recommend Mark Grant for the components, as these are going to carry the best signals through them, eg. DVD so you want the best for the money.
    You can find them here:

    He also does other cables.

My only experience with one was good (if you see my meaning):

I bought their (unknown to me) useless lemon of a twin tuner PVR. After 5 weeks, they gave me a full refund, without any quibble. Can't say fairer than that.

I popped into the one in Walsall, and was mooching around the new HD Viera sets.

I clocked an SVideo lead which was obviously feeding the freeview picture, and asked why SVHS? Why not HDMI or component?

The guy said, " Oh.. SVHS. That's just for the audio " ?!?

The shop in Sutton, Surrey tried to sell me a TH42PW7, on the basis that the HD card would be released soon and the I could be "HD". I stood there and questioned them regarding native res and the fact it couldnt be HD... they argued, I argued... I walked out calling them ignorant c:censored:'s and then just kissed their teeth at me!

I enjoyed it!, woudln't buy anything from them though...

The S@P in Aberdeen has a very knowledgeble and pleasant assistant. I would love to buy the PE50 I was looking at from him, but I think I've decided on the PW7 42" which they no longer stock.

Thanks for all the feedback. Generally seems positive.

The guy in the shop that I am dealing with seems as good as you can expect in a shop and honest enough to discourage from spending money where it wont give the return benefit - and was willing to be positive and negotiate

Funnily enough, I have popped into the Sutton branch as well and probably will recognise their staff.

I'll ask them if they have suffered any agressive or abusive prospective customers recently :D

A while ago the panasonic shops were just priced a little silly. I mean once high street chains like the Dixons and Currys (not to mention specialist audio/video outlets) start selling your products even cheaper with the same backup and guarantee periods then you are on the slope to failure. The Sutton shop has looked empty, the staff bored, because customers were not convinced at the price. I think they have realised this and started to negotiate a little more seriously...
