I have those. Leaving aside the PF album what do you think of the rest. Lateralus vs Aenema / 13th step

    and Mars Volta seperately ??

Wish you were here better than DSOTM ? a tough one is that .
Do you have Piper at the Gates of Dawn, great album when PF were a real 'out there' band.

13th Step seems a bit Tool:Lite, but is good non the less. RE: Aenema Vs Lateralus, the recording on Aenema isn't as good so I was instantly a bit let down, but the actual music is of a similar high standard, maybe not as fluid a whole album as Lateralus, but it'll get repeated spinnings I reckon. Give it time.

Wish you were better than DSOTM? Not on first impressions, but certainly very good. When the guitar comes in on Wish You Were Here, it's probably the most palpable guitar I've ever heard recorded - I could almost walk round it on my system :smashin:
Strangely, the album as a whole sounds more dated than DSOTM but I reckon it's still a cracker.
Haven't got Piper mate, but now may self imposed CD buying ban is soon to be lifted, the rest of the Floyd cat. is on my mind :D

That's because you listen to it every five minutes. :D

You heard their new stuff? Pistola, Megalomaniac etc. A Crow Left Of The Murder is my current favourite - sounds pretty fresh. Just got B.Boyd's book as well... very groovy, although for $45 it f*ckin should be.

    For Xmas I got...

Biffy Clyro - Blackened Sky (awesome)
Dap-Dippin' with... Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings (would be better without her singing... never really liked that Lyn Collins-type voice)

    :smashin:

Erm, I was on about Floyd's Wish You Were Here dude  :D

But no worries, it's always a good time to talk Incubus ;)
I've got Pistola on the Lolapalooza bootlegs (thanks for the heads up Shoka) which sounds cool, though the recording is pretty rank. That winds me up as I know they play really well live and then they shag it up with ***** recordings. Not heard the other two though. I demand they release a new album ASAP!
Now I need Brandon's book, thank MuFu  :D

Ahhhh... hehe. I know the song, haven't got the album. Not a big Floyd fan at all (yet?).

You've probably found it already but if not: http://www.brandonboydbooks.com Took about 10 days to come (over Xmas though).

    l8rs,

    Gambit,

My favourite Pink Floyd album is still Animals. It's a bit more bleak than Wish you Were Here and DSOTM, but it's excellent. Unusually focussed lyrics for Pink Floyd, too. Definitely worth a listen.

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is an awesome album, though. Saucerful of Secrets is less good, but still impressive. If you get a chance, it's worth seeing The Australian Pink Floyd, as they sound very like the real thing, and cover a wide spectrum of their music.

My mates brother is Keyboard player in Pink Fraud, apparently extremely good. They use vintage equipment to capture the 'original' sound.

Cool, what albums do they cover? I have to say I don't like a lot of the stuff that came after The Wall.

Do you have any details of any gigs coming up? And do they do weddings???
