    Hi folks,

Have my eye on a large projector screen which will be at least 4.7m boxed and I am trying to get quotes for shipment (UK). Due to the size, most outfits won't touch it. Looking on here Tuffnells may be one that do (and I am waiting on quote) but are there any others I can try?

    Thanks!
    OB

Well Tuffnells came back and as I am not an account holder with them won't bother giving me a quote. Handy that....

Anyvan - had tried them, bu lost hope after their quote app said 'no' after I put in 4.7m. I've dropped them an email now in any case. - Thanks @Sandra51 !

Try TNT, they delivered my new screen a few months back. Only the driver in the lorry so I had to give him a hand with unloading but was all good.

TNT £350, Tuffnells won;t do it as I don't have an account and too big for Anyvan. This is going well! Looks as though I will have to go and collect myself!

Much safer to go collect as Screen canisters can easily be damaged if not handled carefully.

I used Shiply the other year. £45 for a 92” screen plus mdf pelmet.

I had a sofa collected a few years back by someone doing one of these multi-drop Anyvan runs and was pretty horrified at the way the items were loaded and stacked in the back of the van. I'd be pretty cautious about using such services for something like this.

I think really unless you've got original manufacturer quality packaging, self collection (or collection via a very well trusted party) would be the only way to go.

At 4.7mtrs you are immediately discounting the ‘man with a van’ types as that is too long to go in most vans unless they are the extra long wheelbase version.

I’m not sure where you are wanting this to go from and to, but it may be cheaper and easier to hire a 3.5 ton box van for the day and move it yourself.

4.7mtrs is a bit longer than 92” though!

CitySprint do collections and delivery for packages up to 4.7m. DX does up to 5m I believe.

If Tufnell won’t deal direct you could get a quote through an agent like parcel monkey.

I’m quite interested as to how your going to negotiate a 5m package through doors!
