Having decided at last on a pioneer d812 amp. and dvd 565a player, I understand that to play DVD Audio discs I need to connect the analogue output from the dvd player to the amp. (all six of them) do I still need to connect the digital output to the amp as well??

    Your answers would be appreciated
    Thank you
    Gerry

The 6 analogue cables are for DVDA and SACD music.

For movies you need to connect a digital (optical or coaxial) for DD and DTS soundtracks.

    Hi,

The 565A has built-in DTS and DD decoders so if you want to use them, you don't need to connect up a digital connection in addition to the six analogue cables. Hope this helps.
