I have a Pioneer DVD 565 connected to my Yamaha DSP 800 AV processor using both co-axial and 6 channel analogue. Question is that I know that 6 channel is only way to play SACD and DVD Audio, but as the player has built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders, is it best to play movies through 6 channel analogue (letting the player do the decoding) or should I use the digital co-axial (letting the processor decode). I have tried to compare and think the co-axial sounds more punchy but this may just be increased volume level.
