What Chipset Does the HDS-600RS Use?

Hello all,

I am working on a project for work where I am trying to determine the video decoder that is being used for various set-top boxes. I have been able to track down the vast majority but I am struggling to determine what decoder chip is being used in the HDS-600RS. The majority of the Echostar systems appear to be using a Broadcom chip but I have also see a Conexant chip being used. I have tried to find a box to rip apart myself but they are either non-existent anymore or I can't seem to find anyone who is willing to ship it to the US.

So my question/ask: Anyone out there still have a HDS-600RS laying around that can pop the cover and let me know what chip is being used?

 

Why would you do this?

 

Because it is "fun"!? If you know the decoder chip version without opening the box then all the merrier.

 

And there's me thinking I'm a geek...
