What causes my TV screen to look like this?

Hi, I have a 3 year old Samsung 55” 4K TV, recently there has been a wide dull line showing up in the middle of the screen, on all sources as didplayed in the images. What would cause this? And is there anybway to fix it? Thanks in advanced

Did it not come with a 5 year warranty ?

Backlights fault on LCD screen is most likely?
Fixable?: probably (parts availability permitting).
Economically?: dunno.

OP is in Canada Samsung Product Warranty Information | Samsung Support CA 12 mth warranty.

But do any retailers there offer longer warranty in the sale price, or sell longer add-on insurance that cover faults like this that has been purchased; as we have in the UK?

I had 12 month and bought the in store, the store being Best Buy’s extra 12 months so both are sadly expired. May have to look into getting a new TV

I have that on my Sony 55" XD93 (2017 model), I have three lines instead of one. Thankfully I still have warranty and Sony are giving me an 55" X94J as a replacement.
