I have a PC with HDMI output on the graphics card, but for the next few months etc i need to plug this into a normal S/VGA monitor.

I'm looking for a HDMI to VGA lead or adaptor, i have found one on Amazon but i'm unsure if it will work correctly due to some of the info it gives...

Can anybody point me in the direction of what i need for the time being?

This is what i had found myself...

A HDMI to VGA cable cannot work withotu a separate converter since HDMI does not include analogue signals (the item you link to says this), does the graphics card have a DVI connector?
DVI-I outputs include analogue signals so a DVI to VGA cable would work fine.

Thanks for this information, i'll have to check as im not sure. I know that when i changed my display from a monitor to the TV i had to open up the PC and manually remove the VGA port and replace with HDMI. But i can't remember what else it has on it.

I know it says it on the link, but i don't want to buy a convertor or something and get the wrong thing as im unsure. Hence asking on here.

This is what i have on the back of my GPU...

and also whilst looking for the box the GPU came in i found a HDMI to DVI adaptor and a DVI to VGA adaptor.

So i can now plug my VGA cable into the adaptor and then into the PC and hey presto yeah?

Then when i get my new monitor with HDMI i can revert back

Would have been easier if i'd have checked first i guess....:thumbsdow

All i could remember was removing a VGA input and installing a HDMI as it didnt come with one but gave you the option of removing the VGA and installing it. Didn't expect there to be 2, guess its for dual monitors etc?

The good thing is that you came back and admitted it, thus letting folks know the solution.
