You know.....the films that you hide away in a corner or conveniently remove from your collection when your mates come around for fear of being ridiculed!
Is Showgirls your Citizen Kane or Battlefield Earth your Star Wars?
    What are your guilty pleasures?

Here are some of my more questionable dvd titles:

    Driven
Hated by the critics and the general cinema going public avoided it like the plague. But I just can't get enough of Stallone movies and this ones never out of the dvd player, especially the ridiculous chase through Chicago.Hilarious!

    Bring It On
Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku in cheerleader outfits make this very easy on the eyes indeed. The missus gave me a rather questioning look when this one turned up.I told her it was for the blistering DTS soundtrack. ;)

    Hallow Man
What can I say,I love Verhoven no matter what he churns out.

    The Specialsit
A no-brain junk vehicle to exploit the...erm..talents of Stallone and Stone.I'm looking forward to 2004 when Warner Bros will undoubtedly release a 10 year Anniversary - deluxe 2 disc collectors edition ;)

There are more lurking in my collection but I'll leave it at that before what little credibility I have left disappears down the pan.:D

    IJS,

You listed: "Hollow Man" as one of those "guilty pleasures". Actually, in my opinion, this is nothing to be ashamed of, and is hardly a title people are really gonna get too freaked-out by. Admittedly, the sexism is a little iffy, but bar that, it's a pretty good film.

In response to your question though, my guilty pleasures are:

    Urotsukidoji: Legend Of The Overfiend
Urotsukidoji II: Legend Of The Demon Womb
Urotsukidoji III: The Return Of The Overfiend
    Urotsukidoji IV: Infernal Road
(I like controversial material, and these 4 are still the bete-noir of anime. I simply had to get them to see what they were really like, and yes, they are very, very twisted and disturbed. After watching them, you feel like having a long bath/shower to get rid of all the dirt and grim off you!)

    Cannibal Holocaust
    Cannibal Ferox
(Again, very sick and depraved, but with a small amount of social commentary.)

Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer
(Uncut R1 disc, which shocks you to the core, with its raw power! Makes you feel sick for being a man!)

    Ilsa: She-Wolf Of The SS
(I had to see what all the fuss was about on this, and it definitely isn't fun or pleasant to watch. However, it's almost laughably bad, as well, and hence difficult not to laugh/watch with delight at all the horrid torments that are inflicted on the characters.)

Admittedly, I don't hide these titles from people, including my parents (when they come to visit me), but it must make people think I'm strange. Probably more so, when you see "Cannibal Holocause" sitting (alphabetically) next to "Chicken Run", or "Henry" adjacent to "Heat", or even "Tenebrae" next to "Disney's Tarzan" and "Terminator 2: Ultimate Edition".

I'm not one from hiding my DVD's from those who may find them offensive, but I do warn people if they may be offended by the cover content.

Well, I do have a few "iffy" titles.

    "Who Dares Wins"

    "The Day Of The Triffids"

    "Complete Bod"

But I enjoy them so there you go.

    Well mine include:-

    I Spit On Your Grave-
A disturbing film about rape and revenge, some very nasty scenes... watched it twice and am now going to sell it!!!.

    The Texas Chainsaw Massacre-
Another disturbing film, this time about a mad family who torture, kill, and then eat people

    The Black Hole-
On a lighter note, The old Disney film with the funny robots, the cool space crew and the mad ship captain, great stuff but I should be too old for this now...:D
