Seen them at work- executive writing boards. But did a ebay search for writing boards and pads, not coming up with anything.

No they're on desks, usually leather board with padded sided, for writing letters on (so you're not writing on the desk and etching into the wood)

A Google for 'leather writing desk pad' found a good selection....

They're just called 'Desk Pads'.
