Following a custom install I have a couple of end of reel cables but I’m not sure what they are for. Can anyone tell me what they would be most suited for.
One is a thick cable 12mm dia comprising 5 coax cables 3mm dia Red green black yellow arranged concentrically around a centre core of 0.15mm dia wires, red, green, blue, black and an unsheathed wire wrapped together in a foil.
The whole lot is wrapped in foil and covered in a rubber outer case

The other is 6mm dia and comprises three pairs of .25mm pvc insulated wires and an uninsulated wire, black green, black red, black white, each set wrapped in foil and insulated and covered in a pvc outer sheath.

    Thanks

The first one sounds a bit like one of these (most likely the Multicore Audio_Visual Mini.) And the second one a bit like the 3 pair version of this.

Yup, they do look a bit like those. I was wondering whether it would be possible to use 3 of the video coax's to make up a componant lead and another to make up a sub woofer lead. It would still leave some left over, could even make an s-vhs at the same time. Is this logic flawed?
Any ideas on when or why you would use the screened 3 pair.

Nope; methinks that's exactly the type of application it's designed for.

    General data transmission.
