I have some keys, some of which i may give to mates at home, but i will have some spare.

I was thinking I wont be giving any of them away till after the humble sales are finished, i dont want to be competing with a charity!!

but after that will it be allowed?.

if it is allowed will their be limits (ie you could argue me keeping 1 say deadspace key and then gifting the origin one is cheating as i am making 2 copies of the game)

so perhaps i would have to gift both flavours of the key if it came with them originally.

or are humble bundle keys a big no no now at any time?

    cheers

Anyone who comes on wanting any of these keys should be shot.

Put your hands in your pocket and pick them up now.

Considering how unbelievably cheap it all is.. I can't believe people would want them for free!

I agree at the moment, but once the deal has past, there may be people who have been on holiday etc (esp this time of the year) who genuiniely will miss out on the opportunity to get these games now.

i personally will not give away any keys for any bundle from now on, until after the deal has ended. I think i did with my last one, but it never occurred to me that by doing this i was potentially taking money off the charities.

there are no rules to a giveaway, as you're not selling anything. Do whatever you think is morally right and it should be fine imo. If there are any mates/forum members who you know are on holiday then just keep hold of the bundle. But tbh even people who are on holiday still browse the forum and make purchases from abroad.

This. do what you thinks best, you can give them away in the classifieds if you want ultimately. What i will say is im not sure why this bundle is different to others, they were for charity and people gave tons of those away.

I've already got most of those games; with the exception of Medal of Honour and Sims 3. But I'm not too bothered about them.

I had my youth with MoH: Allied Assault, saved the world and the Sims 1/Sims 2, and made loads of lesbians. I don't need to make any more 'Woohoo' or lock people in small rooms until Death drags them away!

fair enough....... if i have any codes spare i will sit on them and maybe give them away when the offer has ended. I have no interest in taking profit from charities, but once the deal is over it seems a waste for the keys to go unused.

I think the rules are what you want them to be, then with 10 minutes to go to the draw you get a discreet pm from a mod claiming to have some photos you thought you'd got rid of and then 5 minutes later, the mod wins...!

When it comes to this humble bundle apparently there is. Seems anything to do with humble bundle is frowned upon lately but I suspect most of the keys that are given away come from there.

I am not sure, I just purchased the Paradox Humble Bundle and want to giveaway my CK2 key. It really is an awesome game and just don't mind if someone else wants to try it.

To be fair if its the humble stuff then its surely the same rules for all and no giveaways as its for charity each time.

Probably better to link the paradox humble bundle to raise awareness so people can donate and grip their own games buddy ;)

However, the normal Humble Bundles are only part for charity and you can choose to even give 100% to the Dev or Humble Bundle and not even give to charity.

I don't know, I think it is fine to give away the keys for obscure titles, as it brings people into the games. The EA bundle I can understand as that was pure charity and AAA titles, however, for smaller titles and packs I don't see the problem.

It just seems a shame to me that the key will never get used and I paid over the average just to get the key to give away :p Although $6 for Warlock was bargain enough for me.

Give it away in the classifieds then ;)

I'm of the opinion that if you're stopping one then you're stopping all. But it's up to the mods

ahh ok, i thought it would be ok to give away AFTER the offer had ended (which is why i waited)

but if that is not the case, no problem i will keep them to myself / give away elsewhere.

I do actually think a "no humble bundle giveaways whilst the deal is active" would be a very good and fair rule for the forum however, across the board.

Ok I will wait then till the bundle is over or see if it is worth it....... Not sure I want to really step foot in the classifieds.

The recent - No giveaway was purely aimed at the EA one, although the above unwritten rule is a good one to implement as such.

Things may have got a little out of hand thread count wise but purely through this forums members generosity - while taking no nonsense from the chancers, which resulted in giveaways being done here rather than in the classifieds (lets not mention the thanks thing).

So the rule that basically equates to Fight Clubs 'there is no fight club' for giveaways here meant that the giveaway was usually worded to say 'Usual rules apply' - but there were no agreed usual rules. It was a way to say inoffensively, no chancers, no new members signing up specifically, and no members that until they sniffed a giveaway had EVER stepped into these hallowed halls.

Some people may find that cliquey, but only because we are a family here - we welcome outsiders and if you stay, then you will get a beer passed to you every now and then. And to continue my mixed metaphors, you don't go into a new pub and expect someone to buy you a pint - they all look at you weird until you play pool or have a beer with them, then after a while, as you walk in, a pints waiting for you. That's us here.

I reckon no hard and fast forum rules required, if you insist on giving 'em away then give 'em away.

However, if you're denying a sale to the awesome humble bundle you will face the judgement of your peers and a stigma that may take generations to shake off :nono:
