I´ve been looking into speakers for my first HT for 6 months now, and i still have doubts about what to buy.

My room is 7m x 15m and my main interests are DVD-Audio, Films, and X-box, by this order. And they need to be small.

    My budget is around 500-600£.

From what i´ve read, the best 5.1(or 6.1)small speakers would be:

    1-KEF KHT1005
    2-Mission M70+MS8
    3-Klipsch: Quintet II

or this american speakers HSU Research Ventriloquist VT-12

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GO FOR?
    ANY OTHER SUGESTIONS?

    THANKS

I still don´t have a receiver because i was waiting to find what speakers to buy. I have some ideas (Panasonic - SAHE100K, Panasonic SA-XR25S,Pioneer VSX-D711) but i thought i should worry about speakers first.

What´s the recomended power output for the KEF´s?

    Thanks for your reply

    JohnnyWalker,

"my main interests are DVD-Audio, Films, and X-box, by this order."

Considering that DVD-Audio even in the US accounts for less than 0.6% of music sales, your home theatre investment may become under-utilised for number of years if not a decade.

I've heard the Kef 1005's and was very impressed. I have since purchased the Kef 2005 mk1 speakers and I can't say there is a gigantic difference...

Go with the Kefs, you shouldn't be dissapointed :)

There is no best speakers at any price range. It is what works with your current or planned system, in your room to your ears. Idealy, find a dealer willing to do a home demo.

As you seem to have opened another thread with a different list of speakers that you want opinions on, I will close this one.
