I am an absolute beginner, but have used this foum to learn about DVD Recorders recently.

Please can someone tell a numbskull like me what caddied & non caddied discs are?

I know this is a stupid question, but in life if you don't ask, you don't get!! :smoke:

Caddied discs are in a caddy...

Basically the "caddy" (a protective casing, kind of like you get with a floppy disc) protects the disc, you don't get fingerprints on it, etc. But they cost more.

I think most people find non-caddied discs are fine, if you treat them carefully.

    Thanks Redsox Mark.

You must live not too far from me - I am not from "Vicki Pollard" territory (Chew Valley)

Caddied disks are very useful, because nothing ever touches the disk, so they last much longer. Most caddied disks can be taken out of the caddy.

Just to point out the obvious only DVD-RAM discs are available in caddies.
