I have ordered GRAW from amazon but my order states delivery for 16-17 March. Are amazon normally this slow at releasing new games?

that's pretty quick - considering how long it took them to send out the consoles!!

I pre-ordered several 360 games from Amazon back in August when they were £29.99 each and even though I selected the free shipping method all of them arrived on the morning of 2nd December

I 99% of the time get my preorders from Amazon on the day of release. One tip thought, would never order hardware from them from past experiences.

They still reliable though with software but if you want a even better service I would go for Gameplay. I ordered Fight Night for same price as Amazon plus a 99p first class postage and it was dispatched today, meaning I be gettin it 2 days b4 release. You will never get that from Amazon

I use Amazon purely out of habit, rather scarily I've been spending money with them on a regular basis since 1999.

At the start they used to be excellent with delivery, but I these days I find them a bit random.

Sometimes you'll be lucky and get something on the day of release, other times you'll see something is available within 24 hours yet it wont arrive for a few days even with first class postage.

But this week for example, on Monday morning at 8am I ordered the wireless adaptor for my Xbox and it arrived the very next day, scary!

I haven't had much luck with pre-orders recently, they mostly arrive a day after actual release. But luckily I stopped caring about getting things on day of release a long time ago. I'm someone who still finds internet shopping an amazing thing, and Im just happy I dont have to go anywhere to get stuff like that anymore, and it's cheaper than the High Street!

im in the same boat, but i think its cause the game was until recently due to be shipped in the uk on 17th.

im guessing that when they get the stock in any day now, we will see our orders dispatched.

i dont think that is warranted.

i also have been dealing with amazon for years and have enjoyed a very fine service overall.

why is everyone such a complainer on these forums?

Not sure if everyones a complainer, just people with bad experiences.

Maybe its not that big a deal to some, but Amazon really mucked me around for the 360 release, all they had to do is be honest but they just didnt say a word and changed everyones order.

I was lied to several times by Amazon and at the time decided that in order to show my frustration I voted with my wallet not to buy from them for a while til they sorted themselves.

Go for it if you want, but im not prepared to take the risk.

I've used Amazon for years... bought my XBox (Classic) from them and so many books and CDs over the years I've lost count...

I have noted though that their level of service has dropped in the last couple of years. Orders don't seem to be delivered quite as quickly, pre-orders especially...

I'd recommend having a look around. Play and Choices are more than capable of competing with Amazon on delivery times. Whats more, they often beat them on price...

I had my first ever order with Play this week. I was impressed with the fact that the delivery is always free yet it arrives very quickly.

I mainly tried them because I can get air miles from ordering from them now. But after this experience I will use them more regularly, especially when their items are cheaper than Amazon (which after examining isn't always the case).
