Hi this is my first posting so be kind to me.

I have bought a set of KEF 2005 MK1's ex display and now looking for a Reciever, I'm thinking of the Yamaha RX-V2500 as I have found it for a good price on the web 619 euro (£450 ish), is this amp too much for my speakers and should I be looking at the RX-V1500 or DSP-AX750SE maybe ?

Anyone heard these combinations, any help here would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Hi :hiya: and welcome to the forums.

As you will see from my signature, I have the MkII Kef eggs linked to a Denon AVR2805 and am delighted with the system.

Must say though, that I have never heard the MkI's but it might be worth your while seeing if a local dealer would give you a home demo to see if you like the pairing.

Best of luck with your choice.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

For a balanced system, I would lean towards the AX-750.

The eggs will benefit from the better amplification of the better spec'd models, but a cost basis, I would spent my money elsewhere.

The above is based on a RRP scenario, and if a "great deal" can be found on the 1500 or 2500, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on it.
