    Hi guys

Has anyone got the budget LCD projector from Hitachi which got a 5 star review from What HiFi? Don't want another WHF star ratings bashing. Just wanted to know from people who have bought one what it's like.

Also what is considered the budget king by you?

    Cheers

It's the 200 now as the 100 has sold out. I've just got one and it's £710 from www.komplett.co.uk :hiya:

The model is the PJ-TX10 (Illumina). Looks like it's got Component, VGA, S-video and Composite video in and according to WHF it has 16:9 panel, a quiet (26dB) fan and v good PQ. The RRP is £1200 which usually means you can pick it up quiet a bit cheaper.

Suprised we haven't heard anything about it.

    Cheers

Very similar to an AE200, slightly better claimed contrast ratio (bet it uses the same panels though ;) ).

With the AE200 being available for £300 less and the Z1 for £50 more it's up against stiff competition, probably why we haven't heard much about it.

Can only be good for us consumers to have more machines at this sort of price level. :)

There is a review on Nexnix's site, from "What Home Cinema Projector" .... not one I am familiar with !

    Here

just ordered the ae100 from mr whyte, my very first projector. Lucky today was pay day :) As for the warranty on these things it say you get 1 year warranty. I have a barclay card so I paid with that as i get an additional year from them. Anyone had expereince of warranties through credit card companies?

Also can the ae100 work in lightened conditions?

    Just ordered a Hitachi PJ-TX10.

    Main reasons for purchase:

    1. Full x2 Zoom lens
    2. Vertical/Horizontal Lens shift
    3. WAF (wife acceptance factor)
    4. Cost (within <£1K budget)
    5. 16:9 with perfectly adequate resolution
    6. Good contrast
    7. V quiet

#1,#2 (and #3) make it perfect for a 'non-dedicated' HC living room

    Regards,
    Mr Sparkle.

    Mr Sparkle

Please give us a review when you get it. Have you demo'd it? and if so did you compare it against any others. I'd be really interested to here how it fairs.

    Cheers
