Well the web site has changed and tells its a go, where were the emails they promised and the text messages.
And I cannot get anyone at retail level to sell me a box has anyone managed to find one

I went into Currys in Chester this morning.
They didn't have any information and expected freesat boxes to be at least 4 to 5 weeks away.

A mate of mine in Newcastle picked up her Humax box from Comet this afternoon, and they only had 4 of them and one was for display... JL in Newcastle should have had a couple, but delivery was delayed.

Perhaps a low key launch will be better to ensure the service is up and running. You just have to look at the T5 fiasco with BA to see how easy it is to fall at the first hurdle.

I am quite excited by this, tried googling the HUMAX and apart from the Humax website not much info around....I don't get digital switchover until 2012 and I keen to find HD material without paying sky a fortune.

Think I was their first Freesat customer as they were asking each other if they could sell it to me!

I got the HD box financial control, which with a SKY+ 6 mix subscription was very difficult to justify for the sake of just the HD channels.

However.... don't seem to be able to got hold of one anywhere.

Judging from the owners thread there are certainly a fair number out there but nothing in the South Wales area

Picked one up from Comet, Newport Road, Cardiff on Tuesday - I think they had 4 left in stcok, and loads of empty display boxes!

Comet are doing click and collect on their website now. You may be able to reserve your box through there.

As long as the box works, the EPG works, there's nothing to go wrong really unless you don't already have a Sky dish installed.
