    Absolutely ****ing *****!

Has anyone else seen the "sale" on PSN?!I mean it is nearly all PSP games or games and content no one wants?!***.

I must be misssing something. Is this an actual sale, the tpye that happens in the winter every year or will there be one next week?! Last year was a sale, this is not a sale. Worst sale i have ever witnessed in my life.

Also the guys who put up the PSN store should be shot, the content is all over the place now or missing in areas with useless sub categories.

How do these people get jobs?!

    Rant over...

I actually for once dont have anything to moan about when it comes to the store. I picked up Red Dead Redemption with Undead Nightmares for £15 which i thought was a really good price for a download. Plus members have got some decent deals/ freebies too.

They do still to do a single store submission process like Microsoft so that the regions are not so vastly different as Europe are still behind the US.

I personally get all my full games off the PSN now, Fifa 12 was only £54.99, managed to grab Battlefield 3 for £49.99 and Modern Warfare 3 for just £59.99...

Seriously though, after the amount they save on manufacturing physical games, they should be able to pass that onto the consumer, bizarre.

    More money than sense then!

I bought FIFA12 for £37 and Battlefield 3 for about £25. And I have disks to trade later.

Thanks chalkywhyte - yeah I was joking, just can't understand why they don't put them on there at better prices, I think Sony are really missing a trick. As much as I dislike Apple, they really understood that music needed to be cheaper online, so they worked with the industry for sensible pricing on tracks. Sony seem to think people will pay more for a digital copy, absolutely crazy considering you can't sell the game on, plus they save a massive amount on the distribution and manufacture of physical discs/boxes/shipping/retail costs.

I wonder how many people actually buy those games for those prices?

I would imagine that it is because it is extremely early days in terms of wide scale digital distribution. Manufacturing and distrinution probably only accounts for a couple of quid, so not much of a saving. They probably don't want to make a rod for their own back by pricing cheaply at the onset. They have a percieved value for the content which they have produced on the disk and that shouldnt change just because it is delivered digitally now.

But you would expect the digital copy price to be in line with the high street price.

I think Sony would rather you buy the hard copy from the shops, as don't they own Blu Ray? And get royalties for it?

They prob offer the digital copies to be competitive with other manufactures doing the same who also charge OTT. So they don't need to lower their prices. Also as someone says digital media at this scale is still in its infancy.

The problem is down to the Publishers. Its them who make the prices, not Sony. And the publishers believe you should pay the same whether its a download or hard copy based on the RRP
